Though that expression conjures up lot's of thoughts, it was also the motto of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. What made them stand out during WW2, is that they were comprised of Japanese Americans who fought for America, despite what was going on in internment camps, and to show the world to judge on character, not skin color. A beautiful message they carry on today.
