Texas has now become the ninth state to withdraw form the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) which collects data on voting and voter rolls. The Republican Party of Texas hailed the withdrawal stating that ERIC "collects an extensive amount of personally identifiable information and data related to elections going far beyond the requirements of our Interstate Crosscheck Program.”
