THE VOTE
A PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY
“… if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive them their sin and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:12 (NIV)
Our heavenly Father, we realize this was a message to a different people and a different land. We realize that other than in Your infinite wisdom and foresight we were not even in existence at the time of this wonderful Grace extended by You.
But, Lord, we are here now, and we are people who are called by Your name. Our prayer is that if we will turn away from wickedness and humble ourselves to You, will you please offer this amazing Grace to us. You know the desperate need in which we find ourselves. This, Lord, is our prayer to You today.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Savior. Amen!
“You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not. I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration and support and defend these States. Yet, through all the gloom, I can see rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is more than worth all the means. And that posterity will triumph in that day’s transactions, even although we should rue it, which I trust God we shall not.”
These were the words John Adams penned to his wife Abigail after the Second Continental Congress adopted the “Lee Resolution” which declared that the United Colonies would be free and independent states, thus paving the way for what ultimately become the Declaration of Independence.
Adams saw clearly what was ahead for the band of states to maintain this Declaration: toil and blood. But there was more: treasure. The Founding Fathers thought their concept of Liberty, of a United States was worth, “their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor” and that through the blood and toil, the treasure was worth the cost.
That belief still holds true for most Americans and certainly Texans and is why those of us that are part of the Lone Star Truth Initiative, kept fighting for SB1(election integrity bill) to pass into law. It’s why we are insisting on a full forensic audit of the 2020 election and why every day we do what we can to fight for free and fair elections. We are committed to seeing everyone held to the standards written in the Constitution of Texas and the United States.
We meet at least once a month to discuss bills both in Texas and nationally, our representatives and are currently working on clearing out the voter rolls for Bandera County. If you too love liberty and want to make a difference, you are welcome to join us at our meetings.
